Why art education is important ...

What can artists do? Artists can change the face of an area, inspire others for greatness, make us laugh and cry, infuse a city with economic riches, develop a new way of thinking, illustrate an era, illuminate a thought and spread the word of change.

Also art teaches young children shapes, lines, negative space, and more. When I was interning with my old art teacher from Elementary school he told me that when I was doing a lesson to compare shapes to objects the children would recognize...such as a circle looks like a penny. I am studying art education right now and it really angers me that more and more schools are cutting art education.

what i love too is the mere exercise of making a something out of nothing! with children especially, translating an idea into something tangible. stretching the imagination muscles to solve problems in all areas!
creativity is crucial!
